Week Seven
This week, our team reflected on our project’s impact on public policy, surrounding communities, and regulations related to installation of our project.
Here is an excerpt from our reflection:
In all, our project will make an impact on a community that is struggling with the current economic and social inequalities by allowing the Peace Pantry to continue to serve them with their own produce. While we still are in need of more research related to the ultimate installation of our system, we are proud to design a sustainable water source that will result in fresh produce. The Peace Pantry is just one of many small food distribution centers, trying to reach the end goal of providing healthy food to all people that have been displaced by the pandemic and other social-economic impacts.
We also discussed how we are going to wrap up our project as we are reaching the end of the quarter. We updated our Gantt chart, and finalized a list of items to be completed.
Today we are meeting with the Hillsdale High School Plant Manager to discuss our projects design with him. We hope to get information about grading of the back of the school and locations of electrical and water around our planned design proposal site. I will report back with the results in next week’s post.
